Q1.E Quality management

Cross-Process Module

Q1.E

Participant acquires a basic understanding of the methods of QA of AM processes and AM components. He knows the AM-specific quality criteria and the test methods for determining the parameters. In addition, he has the ability to assess the AM process on the basis of process monitoring data and to relate it to the quality characteristics of the AM components. The participant is independently able to create test plans and define measures to ensure reproducible compliance with quality requirements.

Prior knowledge

Basic knowledge of AM technologies as well as generally accepted methods for quality assurance.

Learning content

Context

  • special QA requirements for AM components
  • typical quality parameters from AM processes (roughness, static and dynamic strength, elongation at break, hardness, water absorption in plastics, etc.)

handling

  • Methods for testing material quality (incoming inspection)
  • Preparation, testing and analysis methods for production accompanying samples
  • Methods for destructive and non-destructive AM component testing
  • Methods for component measurement and testing of surface quality

Control of the process flow

  • QA by process monitoring (systems, characteristics, informative value)
  • Detection of process irregularities
  • Process intervention possibilities for quality improvement

Documentation

  • Documentation of quality inspections and processing of data in a quality management system
