The cab handset housing is redesigned to prevent the frequent breakage that occurs when the unit falls from its cradle and hits the cab floor. The strengthened construction reinforces the clip and the vulnerable corner areas, making the casing far more resistant to impact. With a length of 250 mm and a weight of over 100 g, the new housing allows only the outer case to be replaced while keeping the existing electronics in service. This approach cuts refurbishment costs by around 50% across a batch of 25 units.
