Membership Motivation

We are a specialist industrial coatings manufacturer focused specifically on fire protection coatings for composites and plastics. We provide solutions for companies who are looking to meet the fire requirements and regulations in their specific sector by the use of paints and coatings. Our customer base includes many companies who are working in the transport sector, including rail, marine and aerospace component manufacturers. We see the opportunities that Additive Manufacturing is providing in terms of capabilities and flexibility for industrial component manufacture and believe that we have an interesting proposition to enable those in the sector to meet the the technical fire performance requirements.

Network Contribution

We have novel innovative coatings technology that can provide protection to composites and plastics by reacting in the presence of heat and fire to create a ceramic shield. This shield can delay the ignition and prevent the fire from reaching the composite / plastic, and can also act as a thermal barrier, minimising the heat transfer to the substrate. We can demonstrate that this technology works on standard companies and thermoplastics such as polyamide to meet the EN 45545-2 regulations (for example) to at least an HL2 hazard level classification (R1).
