Simufact Additive is the latest product within the Simufact product line, which is used for metal-based additive manufacturing processes. Simufact Additive is a powerful and scalable simulation solution for the simulation and optimization of additive manufacturing processes in the metal powder bed fusion processes with a focus on laser melting. This tool convinces its users with automated and assistant functionalities which accelerates and simplifies the daily work of the AM practitioner. Moreover, enables the intuitive and user-friendly GUI an optimal handling and thus convinces in the practical use. The simulation covers the printing of the part; followed by heat treatment, subsequent cutting the part off the build plate and removal of support structures, plus heat and pressure combined processes (HIP). Simufact Additive supports the user to determine distortion and residual stresses in the 3D-printed metal parts and helps to optimize process parameters. On the basis of virtual methods, expensive and time-consuming real-test are replaced.
